1. Create your case
A 10-step wizard confirms that you are an adult, that you appear in the media, and that it is intimate. Nothing is sent until the final submit. If the case is not a fit, you are pointed to NCMEC, IWF, resources, or the FAQ.
Process
How an AntiNCII case works
The photo or video never leaves your device. The browser creates a digital fingerprint — PDQ for photos, MD5 for videos — and only that string is stored. Participating platforms can use it to block matching uploads.
2. Case record
Wizard answers, optional email, named platforms, and fingerprints are stored in Cloudflare D1. You receive a case number. You choose a password. Neither can be recovered. Email, if provided, is only used to send the case number and is deleted after about three days.
3. Local fingerprints
A fingerprint is created in your browser. Photos use PDQ, a perceptual hash that can still match resized or recompressed copies. Videos use MD5 of the file. Only the fingerprint is sent. We never receive the pixels or the video frames.
What the statuses mean
- Received — the case is in the queue.
- Under review — a reviewer is reading the intake.
- Needs more information — a public note will say what to send, using the same case page.
- In progress — follow-up work is underway, such as advising on platform reports.
- Closed — the reviewer has finished the current work.
What this service does not claim
AntiNCII does not upload your media and does not include Microsoft PhotoDNA. PhotoDNA is a licensed Microsoft technology; we use Meta’s open PDQ algorithm for photos and MD5 for videos. Hashes can be shared with participating platforms so they can block matching uploads. Removal is never automatic or guaranteed.
